On March 9th, the 8th grade Wilmette Junior High School students were visited by a guest lecturer, professional artist Jay Ryan.
During a homeroom assembly, Jay provided an overview of screen printing, his process, and inspired the students with examples of his well known artwork. Then as follow up to the lecture, Jay visited each of the art classes the week of March 20th where he demonstrated the artistic process and allowed students to get hands-on experience making their own screen prints.
This program was organized in partnership with the WJHS Art teachers and the D39 Education Foundation board and was funded through the Sam Mikaelian Fine Arts Fund.
