In the spring of 2021, the D39 Educational Foundation launched Silver Lining Project. D39 students and families were asked “What is your Silver Lining?” The goal was to find and share the positive amongst the unknown of COVID-19.
2020-21 is a school year we will not soon forget. We slowed down, refocused our perspective, and changed the way we live, learn, and interact with others. But from every cloud comes a silver lining. COVID-19 inspired us to explore new talents, try new things, and develop deeper connections with family and community.
We’ve compiled the responses from our teachers and students into a book and video (below).
We hope you agree the artwork, photographs, and poems provided for this project, are beautiful, inspirational, and uplifting. A true silver lining of the past year!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. Silver Lining Project books will be available to view at all six D39 schools, the Mikaelian Educational Center, and the Wilmette Historical Society.
