Cheers to a great cause! This April, The District 39 Educational Foundation hosted a Cheers & Beers event at Double Clutch Brewing Company in Evanston. Sponsored by North Shore Community Bank, this event featured live music, dancing, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres, as well as a silent auction and raffle to raise money for the Foundation’s Gripp Grants program. Guests attended and mingled, enjoying craft brews and appetizers. The highlight of the event was entertainment by two local bands, Antler Chandelier and A.M. Slingers, who created a fantastic atmosphere and kept the crowd moving.
There was also a silent auction with popular items like concert tickets at Wrigley Field; a five night stay in Snowmass, CO; Principal for the Day Experience, and more. The silent auction alone helped raise more than $5,000.
Overall, the event was a great success, not only in supporting the Foundation but also bringing so many community members together for a good cause. The money raised from Cheers & Beers will benefit the district’s six schools by sponsoring future Gripp Grants. These grants provide funds for innovative educational programs, experiences, and technologies that expand, enrich, and complement the schools’ curricula.
